Estate sale find! 1960s vintage. From a family who spent much time in rural Thailand,
where they claimed these plaques were made in a small village by a group of women
who made them for the very few hardy aide workers and tourists who made their way through the jungle!
It represents what one might find on an ancient temple wall fragment.
Actually even nicer than it looks in the photo.
I note the repair made to the unpainted plaque,
one you can see only from the back
...
These ladies had only the most simple tools and kiln to make this plaque!
WEIGHS 2lbs 2oz before packing for shipment.   Measures approx. 7-3/4" x 7-1/2"  and is 1" thick
